Kids

At Rosemeadow-Appin Anglican Churches we think that following Jesus isn’t just for adults, but that children and teenagers can come to a genuine faith as well. And so we want to run excellent programs that help children and teenagers explore the Christian faith in a safe and age appropriate way.

Sunday Kids

Sunday Kids runs at both our Rosemeadow and Appin congregations each Sunday, because Church is for everyone – including children! We often say ‘if you can’t hear the babies crying, the Church is dying.’ We love having people from all ages join us for Church, and aim to help all people engage with what we do together during Church in age-appropriate ways.

During the service, about 1/3 of the way in, children are welcome to come to the front to listen to a bible story and pray together. This is followed by a children’s song and they are given activity pack to use during the service.

Additionally, at our Rosemeadow service, we run separate Sunday Kids programs during the sermon to help younger children to engage with the Bible in fun and age-appropriate ways.

Sunday Kids Juniors is for walkers to preschool aged children.

Sunday Kids Seniors is for children in Kindergarten to year 3 at school.

Older children are given an activity sheet to complete during the service, with leaders supporting them and their families throughout the service.

Child Protection

We want kids and youth to be able to learn about the Christian faith and following Jesus Christ in a safe environment, and so take child protection (or safe ministry) very seriously. All of our leaders are required to complete a safe ministry course every three years. We are also compliant with legislation  around Working with Children Checks and a Safe Ministry Check. Beyond following legislation, we also actively ensure that we’re creating a safe place for kids to learn & grow.
